BPH is a condition among men where the prostate enlarges and can cause urinary problems. It stands for benign prostatic hyperplasia meaning that it is a non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland. It causes a narrowing of the urinary channel like a narrowing of a hose. It could result in urinary problems like:
going to the bathroom too often,
having very bad urge to go to the bathroom,
getting up too much at night,
feeling as though the bladder is not empty,
taking a while before the urine comes out
weak or slow stream.
The treatment for BPH is to either enlarge the opening in the prostate channel or shrinking the prostate. Common treatments include medications and surgery. Sometimes these work very well but all potential treatments have limitations and side effects.
